MEDICINE LODGE-Two people have been injured in a single-engine plane crash in Barber County.
Barber County Sheriff Justin Rugg says the plane went down east of Medicine Lodge on Wednesday around 4:55 p.m.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as the pilot was trying to land the plane. The pilot attempted to pull back when part of the plane caught a fence. It flipped and came to a rest on its top.

KWCH-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1RoRxSo ) that the pilot and passenger on the plane were transported to a hospital. The pilot, 71-year-old Gary Wright of Medicine Lodge, could have sustained serious injuries. The four-year-old passenger received minor injuries.

The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified of the crash.
