    Manhattan Wins Pair at Junction City

    The Manhattan High girls and boys basketball teams will head into the holiday break undefeated after sweeping the Blue Jays at Junction City High School.

    The MHS girls (5-0) dominated from start to finish with a wire to wire 63-27 win over the Lady Blue Jays (0-5). Manhattan was paced by three in double figures with Garrin Williams leading the Tribe with a career high 13 points. Gigi McAtee and Madison Mittie each finished with 10 points.

    Manhattan forced 21 JC turnovers and shot 45% from the field in the victory.

    The MHS boys (5-0) had to gut one out against the Blue Jays (2-3) but had a monster fourth quarter to pull away with a 78-64 victory. Four in double figures for the Indians led by Tommy Ekart who poured in a career high 20 points. Gabe Awbrey and Trevor Hudgins pitched in with 17 and 14 points respectively. Grant Munsen finished with 12 and was great on the defensive end.

    Manhattan will host Seaman on Jan. 5th in the first home game of the season at the MHS gym.
