A report of a theft was filed in the 500 block of Laramie Street in Manhattan on Thursday at approximately 5:23 p.m.  Jeffrey Jader, 29, of Manhattan, reported several items that were missing from inside of his residence including a laptop computer, U.S. Currency and other miscellaneous electronics.  The total value of the missing items was estimated at approximately $1,690.

A report of a stolen vehicle was filed in the 5500 block of Stonecrest Court on Friday at approximately 3:55 a.m.  Katroya Jones, 21, of Manhattan, reported that a male acquaintance had taken her 2002 purple PT Cruiser valued at approximately $3,000.  The vehicle was subsequently located in Junction City and eventually recovered following a vehicle pursuit with the Junction City Police Department.

This incident was still ongoing at the time of this report and no other information was available. Please contact the Junction City Police Department for further details.

As reported earlier this week, Riley County Police have responded to multiple vehicle burglaries over the past several days but in addition, Detectives with the Riley County Police Department investigating the Burglaries have identified multiple apparent unreported cell phones which they suspect may be stolen. If you have lost your cellphone in the past several weeks and suspect that it may have been taken out of your vehicle you’re asked to contact the Riley County Police Department if you have not already done so. You’ll likely be asked to provide your phone’s serial number and this information can be obtained through your cellular provider.
