    Shooting suspect arrested in Pottawatomie County

    As KMAN first reported Tuesday night, one person was arrested and another life-flighted for treatment following a shooting incident in Pottawatomie County. Sheriff Greg Riat indicates just before 5:00 p.m. , Pottawatomie County Sheriff Dispatch received a 911 call of a male walking towards a residence who was bleeding.

    The caller who lived west of Lake Elbo Road on Mt. Zion Road had also reported hearing what they believed was the sound of a gunshot. Sheriff Deputies as well as emergency medical and fire units responded to the area. Deputies arriving on scene learned the male victim, who was bleeding had been shot. The male victim was able to speak, gave the Deputies a name and told them that was the name of the person who shot him.

    It was also discovered the suspect had a female passenger with him in the suspect’s vehicle. During the evening the Sheriff’s Office searched in the area west of Louisville and also received reports on the whereabouts of the suspect. At about 6:45 p.m. the female passenger who was reported to have been in the suspect’s car was located and taken to the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office to be interviewed in regards to this incident.

    At about 8:30 p.m. the suspect was taken into custody in the 16,000 block of Cannonball Road in Louisville, which was described as his residence. The suspect, Dakota Blake Fair, 18, was transported to the Pottawatomie County Jail. He is being held for attempted murder.

    The investigation into this matter continues. No additional suspects are being sought at this time. The victim’s name is not being released at this time. The victim was life-flighted from the scene to a Topeka Hospital.

    A reported shooting just west of Lake Elbo in rural Manhattan in Pottawatomie County has resulted in an arrest. Sheriff Greg Riat told KMAN his office received an initial call of an injured person in that location. Upon arrival, deputies found an individual had been shot.

    The victim was able to name a suspect and a search for the suspect began. That person was taken into custody shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday.
