An injury accident led several local law enforcement agencies to three arrests on Tuesday morning.

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an injury accident at the intersection of Appleyard Road and Gillaspie Road…just West of Wamego.

Upon law enforcement arrival it was discovered that an SUV had run off the road…then into a fence on the north side of Gillaspie Road.

A male individual later identified as the driver of the vehicle denied being injured.

While officers worked the accident…the man fled on foot into a neighboring pasture

Additional officers from the Wamego Police Department…Kansas Department of Parks and Wildlife and Sheriff’s Office responded to the area.

Deputies and Officers pursued the individual…identified as Patrick Burelle, 19, of Fort Riley on foot and he was taken into custody for driving while suspended…providing false information on an accident report and obstruction.

Bond was set at $10,000 dollars and Burelle remains in the Pottawatomie County Jail.

But the arrests didn’t stop there…further investigation continued and it was discovered that Barrett Stokes, 20, a man wanted in Riley County in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries…had been associated with Burelle’s vehicle.

Stokes was located at a Wamego hotel…from which he was attempting to flee…before being met by Sheriffs Deputies and Wamego Police

He was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant from the Kansas Department of Corrections…and he is currently being held in the Pottawatomie County Jail on no bond.

And Wamego Police took Cindy Blanco, 18, into custody for aiding and abetting a known fugitive.

Blanco joins the men at the Pottawatomie County Jail…where no bond has been set at this time.
