    RCPD Report – 1/14/16

    Police arrested Cody Jones, 19, of Leonardville, Kansas on January 13, 2016 at approximately 12:15 PM on a warrant for the offenses of burglary, making false writing, and theft of property or services. He was given a bond of $5,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. No further information was readily available at the time of publication.


     

    The Riley County Police Department is investigating another trailer theft. This most recent report was filed on January 13, 2016 at approximately 8:00 AM and is said to have occurred the night prior. Missing is a black 8X5 utility landscape trailer with a black diamond plate floor and a rear drop-down gate. The estimated loss is unknown and police ask that anyone with information on this crime occurring in the 400 block of Haventon Drive in Manhattan contact police or use the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers service.


     

    Detectives with the Riley County Police Department are investigating a report of aggravated robbery and aggravated battery which was reported after the fact for an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of January 13, 2016. A 20-year-old Anthony Volanti of Manhattan was listed as the victim of this crime after officers found that three subjects, possibly known to the victim, entered his apartment while a single firearm was brandished. Several unidentified items were removed from the apartment by the suspects, however, a total amount of loss was not immediately available. This crime occurred in the 1700 block of North Manhattan Avenue in Manhattan and currently no arrests have been made. Officers continue to investigate the matter and ask that anyone with information on this crime contact the Riley County Police Department or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
