This collision occurred in front of Manhattan High School West Campus when a pedestrian in a crosswalk was struck by a portion of a 2006 Dodge Ram truck traveling southwest on Westwood Road (driven by Alexander Stephens, 24, of Manhattan). Officers found that the pedestrian, a 6-year-old male from Rossville, Kansas, attempted to cross the street in a fashion that did not leave Stephens an opportunity to avoid a collision.
