    RCPDOfficers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Darryl Wheeler Jr., 44, of Manhattan while in the 100 block of Courthouse Plaza for the offense of failure to appear. This arrest took place on January 5, 2016 at approximately 10:15 AM and caused Wheeler to be confined on a bond of $5,000.00. Wheeler was arrested as a result of a warrant from Riley County with an original offense of use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. At the time of this report Wheeler was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail.

    A report for rape was filed in the city limits of Manhattan on January 5, 2016 at approximately 10:00 AM for an incident that occurred on December 12, 2015 between midnight and 3:30 AM. Officers were told that an 18-year-old female victim was forced to engage in unwanted sexual intercourse with a 19-year-old male who was known to her. Officers continue to investigate this matter and due to the sensitive nature of this case no further information has been released.

    Edward Broom, 34, of Manhattan was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on January 5, 2016 at approximately 12:40 PM. Broom was arrested on an extradition warrant from Leflore County, Mississippi with an attached offense of murder. For more information on this arrest contact the Leflore County District Court. At the time of this report Broom was confined at the Riley County Jail.

    Police arrested Margarita Clark, 43, of Manhattan while in the 600 block of Colorado Street on January 5, 2016 at approximately 1:50 PM. Clark was arrested on the offense of probation violation which was listed on a warrant with an original offense of possession of hydrocodone. She was given “no bond” and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail.
