    RCPDReportThe Riley County Police Department filed a report for vehicle burglary in the 500 block of Moro Street in Manhattan on March 1, 2016 at approximately 6:35 AM for an incident that likely occurred the night prior. Police listed Shaneen Silk-Valentino, 23, of Manhattan as the victim when her unsecured Jeep Liberty was entered by an unknown subject(s). Items which included clothing, accessories, and medication were removed and caused a loss of approximately $1,275.00. Officers continue to investigate the matter and ask that anyone with information contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.


    Ashley Wright, 22, of Manhattan was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on March 1, 2016 at approximately 12:20 PM. Wright was arrested on a warrant for probation violation with an original offense of theft. She was given a bond of $5,000.00 and at the time of this report was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail.


    RCPD filed a report for and is now investigating a rape which occurred when a 19-year-old female was touched inappropriately by a 29-year-old male suspect who is known to her. Officers continue to investigate the matter and at the time of this report no arrests had been made. This crime is said to have occurred in the city limits of Manhattan on March 1, 2016 at approximately 4:30 PM.
