Wamego’s USD 320 Board of Education was into making decisions.

At Monday’s meeting, Principal Tim Winter Introduced Sara Umscheid, a Junior wanting to graduate in December 2016.

According to all her teachers, she will have the 24 credits needed to graduate by then.

Approval was given by a vote of 5 to 0 (Board Member Amy Schwein came in later).

In other business, the Board approved the Senior class trip on May 11th to Kansas City.

Senior Class President Parker Waters appeared before the Board with the request and went over the itinerary.

Sponsors are Lori Stratton and Mindy Thierolf.

In addition, approval was given to three FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) members, Seniors Jordan Wilson and Katelyn Flynn, and Sophomore Sydney Ward, and their Instructor Tammy Biswell, to attend the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in San Diego, California on July 3rd through July 7th.

At the state conference in April, Wilson will compete in the Occupational Job Interview STAR event for advancement to nationals.

Flynn has applied to compete for national recognition scholarships honored at the national conference.

Ward will be competing at the state conference in April for the elected position of student board member of the Kansas FCCLA State Board of Directors.

If elected, Ward will attend nationals representing Kansas by volunteering at our state events. The vote was 6 to 0 approving both trips.
