    RCPD Report 4/29/16

    The Riley County Police Department filed a report for theft in the 2800 block of Claflin Road on April 28, 2016 at approximately 3:50 PM. Police listed New Hope Community Church as the victim when a Roadmaster trailer with sound equipment was removed without permission. The total estimated loss is approximately $8,000.00 and currently suspects are unknown. If you have information about this crime which occurred between April 7, 2016 and April 14, 2016 and involved a white 2004 utility trailer contact the Riley County Police Department or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.

    Joshua Foster, 22, of Manhattan was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on April 28, 2016 at approximately 5:25 PM. Foster was arrested on a warrant for probation violation and given “no bond.” This warrant had an original offense of distribution of marijuana, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and violation of a protective order. At the time of this report he was confined at the Riley County Jail.

    RCPD filed a report for and is investigating a sexual battery which is said to have occurred between January 4, 2016 and April 16, 2016. Police found that a 26-year-old female victim had been touched inappropriately by a 62-year-old male suspect who is known to her. This crime occurred in the city limits of Manhattan, Kansas and occurred on more than one occasion.

    Police in Riley County arrested Charles Whitacre, 26, of Manhattan on the offense of failure to appear which was listed on a warrant with an original offense of driving under the influence. Whitacre was given a bond of $5,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. Police made this arrest on April 28, 2016 at approximately 7:25 PM while in the 400 block of N. 6th Street in Manhattan.
