RCPD Police Activity 8/22/16

Officers filed a report for and are now investigating an aggravated robbery and sexual battery which occurred this past Saturday at approximately 3:05 AM in the 500 block of Osage Street in Manhattan. Police were told that the 24-year-old male victim was approached by an unknown suspect who was approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighed approximately 220 pounds.  The suspect in this case is a black male with black hair and brown eyes and his age is unknown. This suspect upon his approach inappropriately touched the victim in the groin which initiated a physical struggle. Police were told that the victim ran from the area when he saw what was believed to be a knife. Taken during the struggle was US currency and 2 financial cards.

A 36-year-old woman was arrested while in the 2300 block of Stagg Hill Road in Manhattan this past Saturday at approximately 10:50 PM. Stephanie McGrath of Ogden was arrested on the offenses of possession of methamphetamine and use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. She was given a bond of $5,000.00 and at the time of this report was confined at the Riley County Jail. This arrest stemmed from a traffic stop for a traffic violation.

A 20-year-old man was arrested this past Saturday at approximately 11:20 PM. Joshua Rookstool of Ogden was arrested while in the 2300 block of Stagg Hill Road on a warrant for the offenses of probation violation. He was given a bond of $10,000.00 through Clay County District Court. He was confined at the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

A report for motor vehicle theft was filed in the 300 block of 9th Street in Manhattan yesterday at approximately 2:00 PM. Police found that Marissa Galindo, 22, of Manhattan had become the victim of this crime when a white 2009 Toyota Camry was removed from the area without her permission. The total estimated loss is $10,000.00 and currently suspect(s) are unknown.
