Officers responded to the intersection of N. 14th Street and Laramie Street in Manhattan yesterday for a report of an injury traffic collision. The collision report indicates that a white 2008 Suzuki GSX Motorcycle, driven by 19-year-old Jacob Balzer, of Hays, struck a black 2014 Ford Focus, driven by 25-year-old Manhattan woman Samantha Migliacco. This collision occurred as the Ford Focus turned left in front of the motorcycle. Balzer was transported to Via Christi Hospital for the treatment of a serious injury. He was life-flighted to a medical care facility in Topeka for further treatment. Police continue to investigate this collision at the time of this report.
A 33-year-old Fort Scott man was arrested yesterday afternoon. Christopher Foster, was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on two extradition warrants from Vernon County, Missouri. He was given “no bond”.
