Police told the community about an aggravated robbery and aggravated battery investigation in the 1100 block of Garden Way in Manhattan yesterday (the incident took place on October 17, 2016, at approximately 11:30 PM). Officers listed the victim as a 24-year-old male and an arrest was made. Police arrested Davis Broadwater, 22, of Manhattan on the offenses of aggravated robbery, aggravated battery, and theft. He was given a bond of $11,000.00.

The Riley County Police Department filed a report for and made 2 arrests for aggravated robbery in the 1100 block of N. 9th Street in Manhattan. Police took Derrick Smith, 17, and Alexander Miller, 19, both of Manhattan into custody on the offense of aggravated robbery. Smith was not confined at the Riley County Jail due to his age, however, Miller was confined in Riley County on a bond of $20,000.00 at the time of this report. These arrests stemmed from an incident involving a robbery inside of a home occupied by 3 victims where firearms were brandished.

Officers with RCPD arrested Clayton Smith, 37, of Manhattan while at the Riley County Police Department yesterday, at approximately 6:45 AM. Smith was arrested on 2 warrants for the offenses of probation violation and failure to appear. These warrants with original offenses of theft, criminal threat, and domestic battery had a total bond of $8,000.00.

Rodney Roberts, 49, of Manhattan was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department yesterday, at approximately 10:00 AM. Roberts was arrested on three offenses of probation violation, which were listed on warrants with original offenses of criminal trespass, intimidation of a victim/witness, and violation of a protection order. Police filed a report for the offense of lewd and lascivious behavior in the 1000 block of Westloop Place in Manhattan after being made aware of an unknown white male with a cross tattoo on his bicep who had exposed himself in view of a 20-year-old female. Police responded to the scene, however, were unable to locate this male subject.

RCPD filed a report for and is investigating the offenses of sexual battery, battery, and rape (offenses involving the same victim and suspect, however, did not all take place at the same time). These investigations involve a 21-year-old female and a 19-year-old male suspect who is known to the victim. Police are investigating these crimes which occurred in the city limits of Manhattan, Kansas. Due to the nature of these crimes, no case specific information or victim information has been released.
