A couple of injury accidents involving motorcycles were reported in the K-MAN listening area Saturday, with one involving a fleeing and eluding case.
Saturday afternoon Devin Booth, 20, of Peoria, Illinois was injured while driving his 2002 Honda Motorcycle in Geary County. Booth was merging onto I-70 westbound from K-18 and accelerated to a high rate of speed. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Booth was reportedly attempting to flee and elude police while driving in excess of 100 miles per hour. As the motorcycle approached exit 299 and exited at a high rate of speed, Booth was unable to make a right turn at that speed causing the motorcycle to flip and toss the driver. Booth was taken to Geary Community Hospital following the 4 p.m. accident.
And the Kansas Highway patrol reports Thomas Whistler,62, of Ogden was northbound on his 2008 Kawasaki Motorcycle on Scenic Drive over K-18 in Manhattan, when the driver lost control while approaching a traffic round-about causing the motorcycle to flip. Whistler was taken to Manhattan’s Via Christi Hospital. The accident was reported at 10:23 Saturday night.
