    RCPD activity report 11/3/16

    Riley County Police and emergency crews responded to a report of a two vehicle injury accident near the intersection of College Avenue and Claflin Road on Wednesday at approximately 12:42 PM. This response came after a 1998 Dodge Stratus, driven by Lorraine Walterscheid, 86, of Manhattan collided with a 2005 Ford Taurus driven by Margaret Auten, 16, of Manhattan.
    The collision occurred when Walterscheid was attempting to turn onto Claflin Road from College Avenue. Walterscheid was transported to Via Christi Hospital with an apparent injury to her arm. Walterscheid was also issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.

    A report of a residential burglary was filed with Riley County Police in the 3500 block of Musgrave Court in Manhattan Wednesday at approximately 1:00 PM for an incident that occurred on October 27th.  Ant Anji, 55, of Manhattan reported an unknown suspect or suspects used force to enter her residence and remove multiple miscellaneous dishes and other items. The total value of the missing property was estimated to be nearly seven-thousand dollars. Suspect(s) are currently unknown and police are asking anyone with information about this crime to contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.

    A 32 year old Manhattan woman is confined in the Riley County jail on no bond following her arrest Wednesday morning. Sarah Burns was taken into custody for failing to appear in Manhattan Municipal Court. Burns was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department. The original offense was listed as driving while suspended and failing to report to the Riley County Jail.
