A K-State former scholarship student has reportedly been arrested on sex crimes charges this past weekend. Nieko William Javie Giesbrecht, 20, was arrested at 7:53 p.m. on three sex crimes charges including rape, aggravated sexual battery, and breach of privacy. Giesbrecht was given a bond of $250,000, causing him to be confined at the time of this report.
The listed charges allegedly occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday morning. A 19-year-old female victim reported that a male suspect, who was known to her, committed these crimes.
Giesbrecht, who currently resides at Putnam Hall on Petticoat Lane, was listed as a Shawnee resident in a K-State news release last year. According to the release, he was a Cargill/Horizon Milling Diversity Scholarship recipient.
