    Manhattan man faces attempted murder charge

    A Manhattan man faces a variety of charges including attempted second degree murder following an incident in Pottawatomie County Saturday morning.
     A Monday news release from the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office indicates they received a transferred “911” call from the Riley County Police Department in reference to a burglary in progress. The victim reported that a suspect had entered their residence. While inside the residence, encountered the victim and threatened them. They reported that the suspect had left the residence driving a green four door Ford car with the trunk tied down with a rope.
     While deputies were meeting with the victim, an additional “911” call came in. The caller stated that they witnessed a male driving a car that matched the description and had pulled up in front of their neighbors residence. The male driver entered the neighbors residence through a broken part of the garage door. The male suspect was located inside the residence, and was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was identified as 28 year old Devon Davis, of Manhattan.  He was arrested for attempted 2nd degree murder an multiple criminal and aggravated related charges. Bond was set at $250,000.
