For the second consecutive week, a Kansas State women’s soccer student-athlete has received the Big 12 Freshman of the Week award as the league office announced Hannah Davis as the honoree. Davis follows her teammate Brookelynn Entz who earned the program’s first league weekly honor on Sept. 12. That’s according to a release from K-State Athletics.

Davis finished the week with a combined four points, scoring one goal and adding two assists. Davis has tied the school record held by Tatum Wagner for consecutive matches with a point at four straight games.

The forward from Lincoln, Nebraska, broke through to score her first collegiate goal, registering the game-winning goal in the 56th minute at South Dakota on Thursday. Davis redirected a cross from six yards out to send K-State to its second road win of the season.

Against Colorado State on Sunday, Davis was the distributor for the K-State attack. In the 17th minute, Davis assisted on K-State’s first goal of the match with a cross to Maddie Souder. She then added an assist on the game-winning goal by Entz in the 95th minute, K-State’s first overtime win in program history. With her two assists against the Rams, Davis set the school record for assists in a match.

For the season, Davis leads the Wildcats in assists with four. She has tied the school record for assists in a season, holds the freshman record for assists in a season and ranks tied for second in career assists. She ranks fifth in the Big 12 in assists per game at 0.44. Her six points rank second on the team.

Kansas State women’s soccer has set a new school record for wins in a season, as the Wildcats are 5-3-1 following the conclusion of its non-conference schedule.

K-State will begin its first Big 12 season this weekend, as the Wildcats travel to Texas Tech on Friday at 7 p.m., and TCU on Sunday at 1 p.m.
