RCPD updates sexual battery case–and other activity

    0
By KMAN Staff on September 27, 2017 Local News, Manhattan, Riley County
The Riley County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in a sexual battery case reported in a neighborhood near the Kansas State University campus this past Sunday. As previously announced, a 20-year-old woman was sleeping in her home when an unknown suspect came in without permission and sexually assaulted her.
The suspect in this case is described as a white male in his early 20s, average build. He was wearing a dark colored shirt, jeans, tennis shoes and dark rimmed glasses.
While RCPD officials indicate this is a somewhat vague description, the hope is someone may have witnessed a suspicious person or activity related to this crime and can report it with  information that may help solve the case.
    ###

Riley County Police are investigating a couple of sexual battery/rape type cases. One report involved an alleged rape in North County on Tuesday. Officers listed a 23 year old female as the victim when she reported an 18 year old male known to her raped her.

And a 16 year old female reportedly was a victim of sexual battery and criminal restraint in Manhattan on Tuesday. The teen reported a 16 year old male known to her grabbed her and touched her inappropriately.

Due to the nature of both crimes, no additional information will be released.

    ###

A Junction City man was taken into custody by Riley County Police on a Manhattan Municipal court warrant for failure to appear at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.  Edward Harrison, 31, was issued no bond, causing him to remain confined at the time of this report.
