Two people were injured in an early Monday morning accident in Pottawatomie County. 17-year-olds Breanna Cheever and Brandon Cheever of St. George, were injured in the accident at U-S 24 and Flush Road , shortly after 7:30 a.m. Breanna was taken to Stormont Vail in Topeka, with Brandon taken to Via Christi in Manhattan.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Breanna Cheever was driving a Toyota Camry northbound on Flush Road, with a second vehicle eastbound on highway 24. Breanna Cheever reportedly failed to yield to the eastbound Dodge Ram 1500 driven by 56 year old David Welton of Manhattan, and the truck struck her vehicle. Welton was not injured.

Everyone involved in the accident had seat belts on.
