Updated Thursday:
While no name is being released in connection with Tuesday morning’s fatal fire in Pottawatomie County, the cause of death is listed as toxic gases due to the fire following an autopsy completed Wednesday. A name reportedly will be released after a positive identification is made.
The cause of the fire is still undetermined, although the blaze reportedly started in the basement of the house and may have been due to a malfunction of electric components. Foul play is not considered to be a factor.
Estimated damage to the house on Stewart Farm Road, which is described as a total loss, is more than 350-thousand dollars.

The State Fire Marshall’s office has been called in to lead the investigation into a fire in St. George Township in Pottawatomie county early Tuesday morning. That’s according to the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s office, which adds part of Stewart Farm Road is limited to traffic due to the early morning blaze. One occupant is still unaccounted for.
Pottawatomie County Fire Supervisor Jared Barnes tells KMAN firefighters were called out around 3:45 am.
KMAN hopes to get more information a bit later.
