According to a press release from the JCPD, officers were advised of the body at 2:25 p.m. in the area of 140 E. 2nd St. in Junction City. The body was identified as a white female approximately 5-foot-9 in height. Tuesday the body was transported to the Shawnee County Coroners Office in Topeka. She was wearing shorts that were dark in color. She was wearing “Pali Hawaii” flip flops.

JCPD Public Information Officer Capt. Trish Giordano told KMAN Tuesday afternoon no criminal investigation has been opened and there is no person in custody related to the case. Giordano said the body showed no evidence of injury. No cause or time of death has been determined.

The age of the body is also unknown, however, Giordano said she was an adult. She added it didn’t appear she was elderly.

The JCPD asks if anyone has any information on the identity of this female to contact the police department at 785-762-5912, our TIPS line at 785-762-8477 or leave a webtip at Gearycrimestoppers.com. You can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
