Amanda Arnold Elementary School named Kathy Stitt as their new principal. Stitt had been the principal of Bluemont Elementary since 2007. She previously taught at Amanda Arnold Elementary, Marlatt Elementary and Sheridan Elementary in Junction City.

“I am truly honored to become the next principal at Amanda Arnold Elementary School,” Stitt said. “It is an outstanding school community — one that I was a part of as a parent and a teacher — and I’m looking forward to going back and using my leadership skills to continue their great success! I’m excited for this new challenge in my career and am looking forward to meeting all of the staff and families.”
Stitt has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Kansas State University.
“We are very pleased for Mrs. Stitt to join the Amanda Arnold team,” said Assistant Superintendent Eric Reid. “She is an experienced educational leader and successful principal, and we look forward her leading Amanda Arnold. She will bring great energy and passion into this opportunity with a strong desire to improve herself and others.”
Stitt replaces Larry Liotta who retired after 18 years as Amanda Arnold principal.
