KANSAS CITY-The first three games were nothing special for the Royals, game four was different though.
Danny Duffy didn’t start things off well for Kansas City, allowing the first three batters of the game to record hits including a three run home run from Carlos Santana. The Royals did get one back in the 1st innning though after Whit Merrifield hit a lead off double off of Trevor Bauer and eventually scored on a single by Hunter Dozier.
Duffy settled down enough to push through six innings and hold the Indians away just enough to get a win, for Bauer, he was not able to settle down. The Royals tied things in the third inning when Ryan O’Hearn grounded out to first, but a throwing error allowed Alex Gordon and Hunter Dozier score.
Cleveland would score one run each in the fourth and fifth innings, but that would be their last lead of the game and Bauer would collapse.
The scoring started when O’Hearn hit a ball that didn’t even get past the pitcher’s mound and scored Alex Gordon and the Cheslor Cuthbert, Nicky Lopez and Meibrys Viloria woud all proceed to drive in runs in their plate appearances, making the score 8-5.
After getting just one out in the fifth inning Indians Manager Terry Francona came out to pull Bauer from the game, but as Francona was walking out to the mound, Bauer took the ball and chucked it over the center field wall, Francona was not happy to say the least.

In the sixth inning Jorge Soler hit his 28th home run of the season and made it 9-5, and the Royals would go on to win 9-6 after Ian Kennedy picked up his 20th save of the season.
The Royals now welcome the Toronto Blue Jays into Kauffman Stadium for a three game series starting tonight at 7:15, pregame at 6:30 on KMAN.
Brad Keller will take to the mound for Kansas City, he has dropped his ERA below 4.00 again after a great start last week in Atlanta, Thomas Pannone, a lefty, will start for Toronto.
Kansas City also made a flurry of moves over the weekend regarding their 25 man roster. The Royals first made a trade with the Oakland Athletics on Saturday for the second time this month, sending Jake Diekman to Oakland for prospects Dairon Blanco and Ismael Aquino. The Royals also designated Lucas Duda for Assignment, and would later release him on Sunday.
Kyle Zimmer and Ryan O’Hearn were both recalled in the corresponding roster moves. The Royals also brought Richard Lovelady back up on Friday, in favor of designating Brian Flynn for assignment.
The Major League Baseball trade deadline is Wednesday afternoon.
