The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers filed a report for vehicle theft in the 3100 block of Willowood Cir. in Manhattan on December 19, 2019, at approximately 7:00 AM. Officers listed a 45-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect took his 2017 Jeep Patriot and items inside. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $13,300.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

Officers filed a report for aggravated burglary and criminal damage to property in the 3100 block of Meadowood Cir. in Manhattan on December 19, 2019, at approximately 8:20 AM. Officers listed a 45-year-old male as the victim when he reported an unknown suspect damaged the window of his 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and took items from inside. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $560.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

Officers filed a report for theft by deception in Manhattan on December 19, 2019, at approximately 9:25 AM. Officers listed a 38-year-old female as the victim when she reported an unknown suspect scammed her out of money using the gift card scam. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,200.00. Police ask that anyone with information please contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 700 block of North Manhattan on December 19, 2019, at approximately 1:50 PM. Officers listed Mobile Revive as the victim when it was reported a known male suspect took multiple iPhones. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,157.00. Matthew Gooden, 25, was arrested in connection on an offense of theft. Gooden was issued a total bond of $2,000.00. Gooden was not confined at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report for aggravated assault, attempted aggravated battery, and criminal use of explosives in the 400 block of Clydesdale Dr. in Ogden on December 19, 2019, at approximately 3:10 PM. Officers listed a 16-year-old male as the victim when he reported a known male suspect attempted to use body spray and a lighter on him. Armando Velazquez, 16, of Ogden, was arrested in connection on offenses of criminal use of explosives and attempted aggravated battery.
