For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic led to its closure, the Sunset Zoo will open to the public.
Starting today, the zoo will be open from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and then 1 to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
It will close from 12 to 1 p.m. on those days and also on Wednesdays and Thursdays for cleaning and maintenance.
All outdoor viewing areas will be open, but indoor areas such as the concession stand and the gift shop will not be accessible.
Crowd sizes are limited to 240 people per 2-hour time block. Those waiting to enter the zoo will be notified when this limit is close to being reached.
Friends of Sunset Zoo members are being given a three-month membership extension to make up for the time that the zoo was closed.
Sunset Zoo members were granted access to the zoo starting June 12.
Tickets can be purchased at the Guest Service entry while the zoo is open.
Any changes to zoo operations can be found on the Sunset Zoo’s website or Facebook page.
