HandsOn Kansas State and the Harvesters Community Food Network of Topeka will host a mobile food distribution on Friday, Aug. 14 from 4 p.m. until supplies run out..
The event offers fresh fruit, vegetables and and other produce for free and is open to anyone from K-State and the local community.
It will take place in parking lot C-1 of the Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex
A restricted number of volunteers will be participating in order to comply with social distancing guidelines.
Volunteers will be loading prepackaged boxes into vehicles, so those picking up food are being asked to open and close their trunks at the event for them.
People picking up food in a vehicle will need to get in line through the Kimball Ave. entrance.
Those without a vehicle can still pick up food from the distribution, but transportation away from the event will not be provided.
For more information on when future food distributions will take place, contact HandsOn Kansas State at handson@ksu.edu, call 785-532-6085 or visit their website.
