The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. –

Officers responded to a report of an injury crash in the 1800 block of Anderson Ave in Manhattan on August 21, 2020, at approximately 5:05 PM. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 2013 Chevy Cruze driven by Lindsay Flores, 26 of Manhattan, struck a 2006 Suzuki Motorcycle driven by Antonio Reid, 21 of Ogden. Kayla Bennet, 21 of Manhattan was a passenger on the 2006 Suzuki Motorcycle. Reid and Bennet were transported to Via Christi for treatment of minor injuries. Flores was issued a citation for following too closely and unsafe lane change. Reid was issued a citation for driving while suspended.

Officers filed a report for aggravated robbery and criminal threat in the 300 block of N Park St in Ogden on August 22, 2020, at approximately 11:38 AM. Officers listed a 30-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 24-year-old male suspect pointed a handgun at him and took cash. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,600.00.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 1100 block of Bluemont Ave in Manhattan on August 22, 2020, at approximately 12:46 PM. Officers listed a 19-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect took his Trek bicycle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $3,000.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic battery in Manhattan on August 22, 2020, at approximately 1:22 PM. Officers listed a 19-year-old female as the victim when it was reported a 29-year-old male battered her. Caleb Perry, 29 of Manhattan, was arrested in connection on the offense of aggravated domestic battery on August 22, 2020, at approximately 4:59 PM. Perry was issued a total bond of $10,000.00 causing him to remain confined at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 800 block of Dondee Dr in Manhattan on August 22, 2020, at approximately 5:20 PM. Officers listed a 35-year-old female as the victim and a 28-year-old male as the suspect when it was reported he damaged her vehicle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00.

Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 1800 block of Anderson Ave in Manhattan on August 23, 2020, at approximately 2:42 AM. Officers listed a 53-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged his vehicle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $900.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.
