    Riley County reports 6 new COVID cases, 2 hospitalized

    Riley County today is reporting 6 new positive COVID-19 tests and 1 recovery since Friday.

    That brings the active case count to 126, a net increase of 5 cases . Additionally, adding in 11 probable cases that have recovered makes 352 recoveries and 5 deaths of 483 confirmed cases reported since the pandemic was declared in March. The numbers differed from those reported Monday morning.

    Overall, more than 5,500 tests have been administered.

    Manhattan’s Ascension Via Christi Hospital also reports 2 positive patients are in its care. One of the patients is on a ventilator.

    Those exhibiting symptoms should contact their health care provider and the Riley County Screening line at 785-323-6400. That’s staffed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
