If you’re looking for a new kind of holiday tradition, Kansas state parks may have the answer.
On Friday, all 28 state parks are once again waiving entrance fees as part of the nationwide #OptOutside initiative, an effort to get families and friends outdoors and enjoying nature.
Tuttle Creek State Park is doing its annual Tuttle Treasure Trail starting Friday. Treasures will be hidden on each of the seven state park trails; Western Heritage, Cottonwood, Canyon, Cedar Ridge, Randolph, Fancy Creek and Eagle Pass. State park visitors will have a chance on Friday also to win a free night’s stay in a Kansas state park cabin of their choice. To enter, visitors simply take a selfie within the park and share it on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram with #OptOutside and #MyKsStatePark.
