    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for theft by deception and criminal use of a financial card in the 2700 block of Kirkwood Dr. in Manhattan on December 2, 2020, at approximately 9:33 a.m. Officers listed a 35-year-old female and Chase Credit Card Services as the victims when it was reported a 52-year-old male suspect used a financial card to purchase an iPhone 11 online. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $712.00.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 1900 block of Vermont St. in Manhattan on December 2, 2020, at approximately 1:42 p.m. Officers listed a 70-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a .410 gauge level action Henry shotgun. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $800.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 800 block of Fremont St. in Manhattan on December 2, 2020, at approximately 7:09 p.m. Officers listed a 43-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect threw a rock through a window and damaged property inside. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,300.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for burglary and criminal damage to property in the 900 block of Leavenworth St. in Manhattan on December 2, 2020, at approximately 8:58 p.m. Officers listed a 28-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered a residence damaging a doorframe and stole Ion turntables, an Xbox One gaming system, and an Xbox one controller. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $525.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.
