    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for burglary and criminal damage to property in the 400 block of S. Clay St. in Riley on December 30, 2020, at approximately 6:39 a.m. Officers listed the City of Riley as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect forced entry into the Riley City maintenance building and stole a generator, a Stihl concrete saw and chainsaw, Milwaukee power tools, Dewalt drill bits, gasoline, and copper tubing. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $3,125.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Kimball Ave. and Wreath Ave. in Manhattan on December 30, 2020, at approximately 3:24 p.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2006 Dodge Ram driven by William Draper, 50, of Milford had failed to yield right of way to a 1994 Toyota Corolla driven by Makayla Arbogast, 21, of Manhattan causing her to strike his vehicle. Arbogast was transported to Via Christi for further evaluation.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 500 block of McCall Rd. in Manhattan on December 30, 2020, at approximately 3:54 p.m. Officers listed Menards as the victim when it was reported an unknown male suspect stole a Swann HD camera, digital and laser levels, and clothing. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,288.00. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $3,125.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for theft in the 300 block of Wildcat Creek Rd. in Manhattan on December 30, 2020, at approximately 4:46 p.m. Officers listed a 79-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole her Hustler lawnmower. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $6,000.00. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $3,125.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.
