    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for aggravated intimidation in the 100 block of Parker Dr. in Manhattan on January 5, 2021, at approximately 9:47 a.m. Officers listed a 14-year-old female as the victim when it was reported a 15-year-old male suspect dissuaded her from reporting a crime.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated assault and interference with LEO in the 1100 block of Fremont St. in Manhattan on January 5, 2021, at approximately 11:52 a.m. Officers listed multiple victims when it was reported a 30-year-old male suspect had threatened them with a firearm. Skylar Scheible, 30, of Manhattan was arrested shortly after on the offenses of aggravated assault and interference with LEO. Scheible was issued a total bond of $20,000.00 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 3100 block of Lundin Dr. in Manhattan on January 5, 2021, at approximately 6:17 p.m. Officers listed a 22-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his green iPhone 11 from his vehicle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $650.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for rape in Manhattan on January 5, 2020, at approximately 6:20. Officers listed a 52-year-old female as the victim and a 62-year-old male known to her as the suspect. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be released.
