Mercy Community Health Foundation hosting “No-Gala” Gala fundraiser

Mercy Community Health Foundation will be hosting their annual gala starting today, but in a different format.

The Mercy Crystal Gala will be replace with the “No-Gala” Gala this year since the event will be more of a 10 day campaign.  Foundation Development Director Tina Rockhold says this is a non-event where they are encouraging their donors and community to donate.  Those wanting to support the foundation during this time can do so online.

“We want to use the tagline and phrase: ‘Stay home, stay safe, and give generously.’ It doesn’t come with a lot bells and whistles,” says Rockhold.

Starting tomorrow Feb 18, donors can log onto justgiving.com/campaign/MercyNoGalaGala from now till Feb 28 and make a donation.  The goal for this year’s event is $93,000.  Rockhold says they have already allocated $40,000 in matching funds, making each donation matched dollar for dollar.

The Mercy Community Health Foundation raises money to help support the local hospital, so the proceeds from this event will go to help Ascension Via Christi.
