COFFEYVILLE, Kan. — Police in southeastern Kansas say a request to check on the welfare of a person in Coffeyville led officers to discover the body of a man inside a home.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says in a news release that Coffeyville officers went to the home Wednesday evening and discovered the man’s body. Officials say the victim was not immediately identified because of the advanced state of decomposition of the body. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday to help identify the man and determine his cause of death.
The KBI was asked to help following the discovery of the body.
