    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for aggravated burglary in the 800 block of Moro in Manhattan on May 14, 2021, at approximately 9:09 a.m. Officers listed a 22-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered his apartment and stole a white Fender Player Telecaster guitar and a “starburst” color Jazz bass guitar. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,300.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Barton Rd. and Falcon Rd. in Leonardville on May 15, 2021, at approximately 7:24 a.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2009 Pontiac G8 driven by Trystin McCoy, 20, of Leonardville had driven off the road at a curve, went airborne, struck a utility pole, and over a barbed-wire fence into a field ejecting McCoy from the car. McCoy was transported to Stormont Vail in Topeka via Life Star helicopter for treatment of a fractured leg.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 300 block of Seventh St. in Ogden on May 15, 2021, at approximately 10:32 a.m. Officers listed a 43-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his black 2003 Mazda 3. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $5,000.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for aggravated sexual battery in Manhattan on May 16, 2021, at approximately 2:49 a.m. Officers listed a 47-year-old female as the victim and a 54-year-old male known to her as the suspect. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 400 block of Knox Ln. in Manhattan on May 16, 2021, at approximately 12:49 p.m. Officers listed the City of Manhattan as the victim when it was reported a restroom at Northeast Community Park was vandalized with graffiti. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $800.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for aggravated burglary in the 500 block of Dornoch Way in Manhattan on May 16, 2021, at approximately 4:14 p.m. Officers listed a 22-year-old male as the victim when it was reported two unknown males paid for a pair of shoes the victim was selling in fake cash and hit him in the face with a handgun. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic battery in Manhattan on May 16, 2021, at approximately 5:00 p.m. Officers listed a 40-year-old female as the victim when it was reported a 36-year-old male suspect physically injured her.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic assault, criminal damage to property and interference with LEO in Manhattan on May 16, 2021, at approximately 11:25 p.m. Officers listed a 31-year-old female and a 50-year-old male as the victims and suspects when it was reported they were in a fight resulting in a broken window by the 50-year-old male who also interfered with responding officers. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $100.00. David Voter, 50, of Manhattan was arrested in connection on the offenses of interference with LEO and criminal damage to property. Voter is confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $2,000.00.
