    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for aggravated battery and assault in the 1200 block of Yuma St. in Manhattan on June 10, 2021, at approximately 7:04 a.m. Officers listed 52- and 74-year old males as the victims when it was reported a 74-year-old male suspect hit the 52-year-old male victim with a bat and a 52-year-old male suspect threw a wooden board at the 74-year-old male victim.

    Officers filed a report for theft and criminal damage to property in the 1100 block of Hayes Dr. in Manhattan on June 10, 2021, at approximately 9:38 a.m. Officers listed USD 383 and a 33-year-old female as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a 2021 white Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo from a USD 383 parking lot and drove it through a secured gate. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $43,200.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for possession of marijuana and burglary in the 1900 block of Bluestem Ter. in Manhattan on June 10, 2021, at approximately 8:08 p.m. Officers listed Cool Care Club as the victim when it was reported a 27-year-old male suspect broke into a car and stole an Epipen and other medical equipment. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $750.00. Seth Lightfoot, 27, of Alta Vista was arrested in connection for one count of burglary. Lightfoot was also found to be in possession of marijuana and was also charged with one count of possession of marijuana. Lightfood is confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $5,000.00.
