    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 5500 block of Skyview Dr. in Manhattan on June 18, 2021, at approximately 4:28 p.m. Officers listed Hertz Rental as the victim when it was reported a 61-year-old female suspect rented a silver 2008 Nissan Altima and failed to return it after the rental period was over. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $12,000. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property and criminal trespass in the 1200 block of S. Walnut St. in Ogden on June 18, 2021, at approximately 4:39 p.m. Officers listed a 73-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect had forced entry into a house damaging a door and door frame. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $600. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property and criminal trespass in the 1200 block of Colorado St. in Manhattan on June 19, 2021, at approximately 3:22 a.m. Officers listed a 59-year-old female and a 74-year-old male as the victims when it was reported a 67-year-old male broke out the windshield and taillights of a car and criminally trespassed. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $900. Officers issued a Notice To Appear to James Baugh, 67, of Olsburg in connection for criminal damage to property and criminal trespass.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 300 block of Knoxberry Dr. in Manhattan on June 19, 2021, at approximately 9:04 a.m. Officers listed a 44-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect broke out the rear window of his truck.     Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on June 19, 2021, at approximately 2:46 p.m. Officers listed Walmart as the victim when it was reported two unknown suspects stole various items. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,103.     Officers filed a report for theft and criminal damage to property in the 1500 block of College Ave. in Manhattan on June 19, 2021, at approximately 5:28 p.m. Officers listed a 20-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect cut her bike lock and stole her silver Trek bicycle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $720. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for theft in the 600 block of S. Seth Child Rd. in Manhattan on June 19, 2021, at approximately 7:43 p.m. Officers listed a 51-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his Apple iPhone 11. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $549. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of N. 14th St. and Poyntz Ave. in Manhattan on June 19, 2021, at approximately 9:18 p.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by a 21-year-old female had struck a 22-year-old male riding a bicycle. The 22-year-old male was examined for injuries and ultimately released.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated assault in the 1100 block of Moro St. in Manhattan on June 20, 2021, at approximately 1:26 a.m. Officers listed 19- and 21-year-old males as the victims when it was reported a 22-year-old male suspect threatened them with a gun outside of Tubby’s Sports Bar in Aggieville. Eugenio Rodriguez, 22, of Ft. Riley was arrested in connection on the offense of aggravated assault. Rodriguez was issued a total bond of $10,000 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 1100 block of Garden Way in Manhattan on June 20, 2021, at approximately 9:38 p.m. Officers listed a 24-year-old female and a 25-year-old male as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a black and orange Huffy 24 inch mountain bicycle and a red and white Haro BMX 20 inch bicycle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $600. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property and domestic battery in Manhattan on June 21, 2021, at approximately 1:50 a.m. Officers listed a 35-year-old female and a 41-year-old male as the victims when it was reported a 41-year-old male suspect damaged a patio furniture set, a Cuisinart coffee maker and a Keurig coffee maker and shoved the 35-year-old female victim. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,160. Jamie Smith, 41, of Manhattan was arrested in connection on the offense of criminal damage to property. Smith was issued a total bond of $3,000 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.
