    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police.  Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further.  Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for aggravated indecent liberties with a child in Manhattan on June 5, 2021, at approximately 1:01 p.m. Officers listed a 31-year-old male as the suspect. This report is part of the ongoing investigation into Aaron Zachry.

    Officers filed a report for burglary and criminal damage to property in the 900 block of Twin Oak Dr. in Manhattan on June 5, 2021, at approximately 4:03 p.m. Officers listed 11- and 35-year-old females as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect broke into a car through a window and stole Apple Airpod headphones and a wallet. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,370.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for burglary and criminal damage to property in the 900 block of Twin Oak Dr. in Manhattan on June 5, 2021, at approximately 4:13 p.m. Officers listed a 38-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect broke into a car through a window and stole a Nikon D8500 camera, Tamron 600 mm and 400 mm lenses, other miscellaneous camera equipment, and a denim and leather travel bag. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $10,058.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report form criminal damage to property and criminal discharge of a firearm in city limits in the 2900 block of Jacque Cir. in Manhattan on June 5, 2021, at approximately 7:10 p.m. Officers listed the City of Manhattan and a male (unknown age at this time) as the victims when it was reported a 33-year-old male suspect fired a gun at an unoccupied shed. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $150.00.

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property and criminal discharge of a firearm in city limits in the 1200 block of Laramie St. in Manhattan on June 6, 2021, at approximately 12:42 a.m. Officers listed 21- and 26-year-old males and the City of Manhattan as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect fired a gun, hitting two unoccupied cars. The total loss associated with this case is unknown at this time. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property and criminal discharge of a firearm in city limits in the 1000 block of Fremont St. in Manhattan on June 6, 2021, at approximately 9:41 a.m. Officers listed the City of Manhattan and a 23-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect fired a gun, hitting her unoccupied car. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $600.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 1200 block of Bluemont Scenic Dr. in Manhattan on June 6, 2021, at approximately 12:21 p.m. Officers listed the City of Manhattan as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged a metal lid cover for a well at Bluemont Scenic Park. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $900.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for burglary in Manhattan on June 6, 2021, at approximately 12:23 p.m. Officers listed a 21-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered his unlocked car and stole three pairs of sunglasses. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $650.00. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.00.

    Officers filed a report for theft in Manhattan on June 6, 2021, at approximately 3:16 p.m. Officers listed a 35-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 28-year-old male suspect stole his Husqvarna K770 concrete saw. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,300.00.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated battery, driving under the influence, and operating a car without a required ignition interlock device near the intersection of Browning Ave. and Kimball Ave. in Manhattan on June 6, 2021, at approximately 4:04 p.m. Officers listed a 21-year-old female driving a Honda Pilot as the victim when it was reported a 37-year-old male suspect driving a Chevrolet 1500 while under the influence of alcohol struck her car. No major injuries were reported. Alberto Ibarra, 37, of Manhattan was arrested on the offenses of aggravated battery, driving under the influence, and operating a car without a required ignition interlock device. Ibarra is currently confined in the Riley County Jail on a total bond of $18,000.00.
