June sales tax numbers are in for the City of Manhattan.

The city’s one-percent sales tax brought in around $1.04 million in revenue for June 2021.

This is up nearly $272,000 from June 2020, when the city brought in about $767,000.

The jump comes out to an approximately 35.5 percent increase from one year ago.

The two categories that drove the increase were Retail Trade and Accommodation and Food Services, which rose from about $508,000 to $690,000 and from $91,000 to $146,000, respectively.

One category, described as Construction in the tax report, fell from about $16,700 to $15,900.

The city’s overall sales-tax figure for June 2021, which includes the one percent general city tax, a .25 percent quality of life sales tax, .2 percent roads and maintenance sales tax, county tax funds and revenue from transportation development districts, came in at just over $2 million.
