Brew at the Zoo is back

By KMAN Staff on August 23, 2021 Local News, Manhattan

Sunset Zoo is bringing back Brew at the Zoo, and it’s better than ever!

Melissa Kirkwood, Marketing and Development Coordinator, tells KMAN Brew at the Zoo is a perfect event to relax, eat great food, have a few drinks, and explore the 26-acre zoo, all while enjoying the live music and entertainment from M31.

Kirkwood says this year’s event also comes with more exciting news.

“We have formed a really great relationship with Manhattan Brewing Company and they will be launching a beer specific for Sunset Zoo on Wednesday [August 25],” Kirkwood adds. “So, they will have a release party for that beer, and we will release our tickets on Wednesday.”

Kirkwood says the beer is a benefit beer with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the conservation efforts at Sunset Zoo. She talks more about the inspiration behind the brew.

“Manhattan Brewing Company actually canned their beers and they have made a special label for that beer that is designed with artwork that has been done by our chimp group.”

She says, to follow the chimp theme, the brew will also have hints of banana mixed in. Kirkwood says each fall a new brew will be released, each with different flavors.

The featured beer and many others can be enjoyed at this year’s Brew at the Zoo event on Friday, October 15 from 5 to 8PM. Ticket sales begin on August 25. Attendees will also receive a commemorative souvenir beer glass and unlimited samples from multiple craft brewers.

Tickets and information can be found at sunsetzoo.com.
