    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for criminal damage to property in the 500 block of Ft. Riley Blvd. in Manhattan on August 13, 2021, around 10:58 a.m. Officers listed Precision Tint and Auto as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect damaged a white plastic fence and a door handle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of N. Seth Child Rd. and Marlatt Ave. on August 13, 2021, around 8:26 p.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic driven by Doris Henson, 73, of Manhattan had driven through a stop sign at Marlatt Ave. and attempted to pull out while a 2003 Ford F-250 driven by Brady Colp, 36, of Manhattan was very close. Colp hit his brakes and swerved in an attempt to avoid a collision but hit Henson almost head-on. Henson was transported privately for treatment of her injuries and issued a citation for failure to yield right of way at a stop sign.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 800 block of Gillespie Dr. in Manhattan on August 13, 2021, around 10:32 p.m. Officers listed a 24-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his white 2004 Chrysler Pacifica. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,000. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Tuttle Cove Rd. and Highway 13 in Manhattan on August 14, 2021, around 1:06 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 2013 Ford Fiesta driven by Analise Ortiz, 16, of Manhattan had lost control, left the roadway and hit a stone wall. Ortiz was transported to Via Christ then Stormont Vail in Topeka for treatment of abdominal pain. A passenger Page Gram, 19, of Manhattan was transported to Via Christi then Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment of a broken leg. Ortiz was issued a citation for improper driving on a laned roadway.

    Officers filed a report for burglary in the 500 block of Brooklawn Dr. in Manhattan on August 14, 2021, around 7:46 a.m. Officers listed a 40-year-old female and a 48-year-old male as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect stole jumper cables and equipment, a fishing pole, a television wall mount, a backpack, a butane torch, curtains, a wallet, and pillows from their car.     Officers filed a report for theft in the 800 block of Mimosa Ln. in Manhattan on August 14, 2021, around 8:20 a.m. Officers listed a 41-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his silver 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $15,000. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for burglary in the 700 block of Canyon Dr. in Manhattan on August 14, 2021, around 1:43 p.m. Officers listed 23- and 27-year-old males as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect stole numerous military equipment from a car. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,300. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for theft and criminal damage to property in the 400 block of E. Poyntz Ave. in Manhattan on August 14, 2021, around 3:38 p.m. Officers listed Academy Sports as the victim when it was reported an unknown male suspect stole multiple knives and backpacks, flashlights, two carabiners, and light holsters. All items except for one flashlight, the light holsters and two carabiners were later found in Ft. Riley. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $760. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for rape in Manhattan on August 14, 2021, around 10:37 p.m. Officers listed a 20-year-old female as the victim and a 44-year-old male known to her as the suspect. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery and criminal damage to property in Manhattan on August 15, 2021, around 1:19 p.m. Officers listed a 26-year-old female as the victim when it was reported a 31-year-old suspect battered her and damaged an electronic cigarette and a door. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $350. William Alexander Bugg, 31, of Manhattan was arrested in connection for two counts of domestic battery, aggravated domestic battery and criminal damage to property. Bugg was issued a total bond of $9,000 and is no longer confined at the time of this report.
