    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 1400 block of Chase Pl. in Manhattan on September 9, 2021, around 8:15 a.m. Officers listed a 23-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 42-year-old female suspect stole his Remington 870 12-gauge shotgun around six months ago. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $500.

    Officers filed a report for aggravated battery in the 100 block of Bluemont Ave. in Manhattan on September 9, 2021, around 7:38 p.m. Officers listed a 43-year-old male as the victim when it was reported a 21-year-old male suspect knocked him unconscious and kicked him in the head. Benjamin Reinhardt, 21, of Manhattan was arrested in connection for aggravated battery and transported to the Pottawatomie County Jail.

    Officers filed a report for criminal deprivation of property in the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Rd. in Manhattan on September 9, 2021, around 8:03 p.m. Officers listed a 20-year-old female as the victim when it was reported a 19-year-old female suspect took and did not give back two side tables and a tote with clothing and personal items inside. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $2,000.
