The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

Officers responded to the report of a medical call in the 1400 block of College Ave. in Manhattan on September 17, 2021, around 1:25 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a deceased 26-year-old male. The investigation is underway and an autopsy is pending. No foul play is suspected at this time.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 500 block of N. 5th St. in Manhattan on September 18, 2021, around 1:36 a.m. Officers listed a 21-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his silver 1996 Honda Accord with property inside. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $700. The car and property were located later the same day.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 500 block of Laramie St. in Manhattan on September 18, 2021, around 10:37 a.m. Officers listed a 31-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his black 2009 Buell Blast motorcycle. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for theft in the 600 block of 3rd Pl. in Manhattan on September 18, 2021, around 11:21 a.m. Officers listed a 55-year-old female as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole her wallet and its contents, then used her financial cards to make unauthorized purchases. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,525. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for theft in the 100 block of Manhattan Town Center in Manhattan on September 18, 2021, around 7:27 p.m. Officers listed Ulta Beauty as the victim when it was reported two unknown suspects stole numerous perfume items. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,500. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Officers filed a report for theft in the 300 block of Brookvalley Dr. in Manhattan on September 18, 2021, around 10:21 p.m. Officers listed 27- and 32-year-old females as the victims when it was reported an unknown suspect stole a blue 2009 Ford Escape with property inside. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $6,800. The car and property were located later the same day.

Officers filed a report for burglary in the 2500 block of Brook Ln. in Manhattan on September 19, 2021, around 11:14 p.m. Officers listed a 48-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered his unlocked truck and stole a Smith & Wesson MP Shield, a Bauer E.Q. Imp wrench and a Motorolla 2-way radio. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,900.

Officers filed a report for theft in the 2200 block of College Ave. in Manhattan on September 19, 2021, around 2:53 p.m. Officers listed a 23-year-old male as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect stole his Playstation 4 and two controllers. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $550. Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
