    Manhattan into 6A Boys State Tourney at Eighth Seed

    Manhattan High’s boys are the eighth seed for the 6A State tournament in Wichita after winning a sub-state title Saturday night at Derby, 61-45.

    Jack Wilson scored nine of his 13 in the fourth quarter, Tate Brown finished with a team high 14 for the Indians who will open the 6A tournament against Lawrence-Free State at two Thursday afternoon. The Firebirds are 21-1.

    The Wamego girls are the third seed in the 4A tournament and will open with Altamont-Labette County Wednesday night. The Red Raiders beat Holton Friday to qualify for the state tournament.
