Monday’s edition of In Focus featured guests from Manhattan Parks and Recreation, the Flint Hills Area Transportation Agency, and Jayme Morris-Hardeman wearing multiple hats.

The first half of the show featured Park Planner Alfonso Leyva and Recreation Supervisor Molli Maberry. Leyva previewed July’s Parks and Rec Advisory Board meeting and discussed updates on the pollinator pockets program as well as dredging at Dishman Lake. Maberry talked about Arts in the Park, which kicked off this past Friday June 3 and carries on every Friday through July 29.

Executive Administrator Daphne McNelly talked in segment 3 about the latest with aTa Bus, noting this Friday all routes are canceled due to a staff training event. She also discussed the agency’s bus shelter program and hinted at important route updates to be unveiled at a later date.

The show ended with Jayme Morris-Hardeman. She discussed her role as Thrive! Flint Hills’ executive director and the organizations upcoming online auction. Sunflower CASA, for which she is an advocate supervisor, is entering its summer training period. Morris-Hardeman also briefly talked about True Colors, a soon-to-open space for LGBTQ youth in the community.

Tuesday’s show will feature guests from the City of Manhattan to preview the evening’s legislative meeting of the city commission.
