    Segment 2 – 16:10
    Segment 3 – 28:06
    Segment 4 – 38:17

Tuesday’s edition of In Focus featured guests from the City of Manhattan in advance of the evening’s legislative meeting at 7 p.m.

City Manager Ron Fehr and Commissioner John Matta joined the show for the hour. In the first segment, the two discussed the beginning of budget season and construction updates.

Segment 2 got into items on the consent agenda for the night, including issuance of STAR bonds in association with the Art and Light Museum Project, the approval of a $300,000 contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates to conduct an ADA self-evaluation and transition plan, and authorization of the sale of Public Works facilities at 620 and 621 Juliette to Howie’s Recycling for over $1.5 million.

The last two segments centered around items up for discussion on the evening’s general agenda. Commissioners Tuesday are scheduled to discuss policy and procedures for the governing body as well as the city’s advisory boards and committees. Among potential changes is a rescheduling of all city commission meetings to 6 p.m. Commissioners will also talk about possible changes to the appointment procedure for city advisory boards. Some attention will be given to the mayoral appointment process, a source of disagreement for a majority of the current commission.
