Dickinson County authorities located a 17-year-old Tuesday accused of threatening individuals at the Chapman pool and recreational complex Monday.

The teenager, identified as Jacob Schoby, was taken into custody without incident, according to the Sheriff’s Office. An investigation was opened between the office and the Chapman Police Department after he allegedly made severe threats to harm and kill individuals. An investigation revealed Schoby showed a small pistol in at least one of the videos posted on his Snapchat.

Formal charges are pending from the Dickinson County Attorney’s Office.

Original Story:

A teenager is on the run from police after making threats Monday at the Chapman swimming pool.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation by it and the Chapman Police Department determined 17-year-old Jacob Schoby allegedly made severe threats to harm and kill individuals at the pool as well as the Chapman ball complex. He was last seen in an area south of Abilene Monday night. The suspect, whose name had not been initially released, is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds and was wearing a black and white sweatshirt.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the teenager showed a small pistol in at least one of the videos he posted to Snapchat. Due to the violent nature of the threats and because the subject displayed the gun, the Sheriff’s Office warns that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with knowledge of the suspect’s location should call 911 immediately. Anyone with additional information should contact law enforcement.
