Tuesday was Pottawatomie County day on In Focus, featuring guests from the county government as well as Pottawatomie County 4-H.

The show opened with a conversation with Election Supervisor Ashley Rice about the upcoming August 2 primary election and the advance voting numbers as of Tuesday. She also discussed the preparation that goes into the process.

Segments 2 and 3 welcomed Commissioner Greg Riat onto the program. He provided a recap of Monday’s commission meeting, which included conversations about the possibility of a sales tax ballot question to support infrastructure projects in Pottawatomie County. He further discussed bids for the new signal at the intersection of Columbian Road and Hwy 24.

The program ended with a preview of the Pottawatomie County Fair. We welcomed 4-Hers Hayes Rickstrew, Hope Jacobs as well as Tyrre and Delaney Figge to the program to discuss how they got involved in the program and what they’re looking forward to as the fair approaches on August 3.
